The Santosh Trophy, 79th National Football Championship 2025–26, is being played at the Vidyadhar Nagar Stadium, Jaipur.

Gujarat are placed in Group I along with Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.

In their opening match, the Gujarat team made a strong start by defeating Maharashtra 3–0 and secured three points.

Gujarat took the lead in the 8th minute of the match with a शानदार goal by midfielder Moinuddin, making it 1–0. The score remained 1–0 in favour of Gujarat at halftime.

After halftime, Maharashtra made several attempts to score, but all their efforts were effectively neutralised by the Gujarat defence. In the 78th minute, Moinuddin scored his second goal of the match to extend Gujarat’s lead to 2–0. Later, substitute forward Dharmesh Parmar, who came on in the 58th minute, scored in the 89th minute, sealing Gujarat’s victory and taking the scoreline to 3–0.

The score remained 3–0 in favour of Gujarat until the final whistle.
